Balancing Work, Health, and Happiness

Sometimes, I wish I was one of those people who could wake up at 5 AM every day to workout and start my day off on the right foot. The reality, though, is that I often stay up late playing games, even on work days. My job can be demanding, with long hours that stretch to 9-10 hours a day and the expectation to get in an additional 4 hours of overtime each week. It’s a tough balance, and I often find myself feeling exhausted and out of sync. I leave work feeling EXHAUSTED. Staring at a screen all day is not fun nor is it good Luckily I have new glasses that will help with it.

But, I’ve decided it’s time to prioritize myself more. It’s easy to get caught up in the grind and forget about the things that truly bring me joy and fulfillment. I’m making a conscious effort to engage in hobbies and activities that make me happy. Whether it’s catching up with friends I haven’t seen in a while, getting more serious about jump roping so I can look like the other cuties, or hopefully traveling more, I want to fill my life with experiences that enrich my well-being.

Additionally, more than anything, I want to become closer to God and focus on my spiritual health. Strengthening my faith and dedicating time to reflect and pray can provide a sense of peace and purpose that’s often missing in the hustle and bustle of my life.

It’s not going to be easy to shift my habits and find a better balance, but I’m committed to making these changes. Maybe not 5am changes but prioritizing my health, happiness, and personal growth, I hope to lead a more fulfilling and balanced life. Here’s to a journey of self-improvement and discovering what truly matters.
