Bowling and its BS
Last night's bowling league session was a freaking trip. It was quite a change from my recent successes where I'd been throwing 690 and up the last couple of weeks. But last night, I just couldn't seem to knock down the 10 pin or 7 pin, no matter how hard I tried. If I had to rate my performance, I would probably say I felt like a 7/10. The difference was my thumb not fitting into my other ball properly due to the core swelling. Must be a Storm thing because only my Storm balls swell then my thumbs don’t fit. To top it off, I left a 7-10 solid af so it’s just confusing trying to make moves and getting shit carry.
However, after the initial disappointment wore off, I realized there were some important lessons to be learned from the tough night. It reminded me that bowling, like life, is full of surprises and challenges. It also highlighted the importance of being able to adapt and improve continuously. So, I decided to make the most of the experience by committing to spend more time practicing my spare shots. Lol we shall see about that. The night consisted of my boyfriend upset at his bowling and myself also upset so if we both are upset then that’s a recipe for disaster. So, I took my 600 and remained levelheaded for the both of us.
Despite the setbacks, I also tried to focus on the positive aspects of the evening. I reminded myself of the passion I have for bowling and the occasional great shots I did manage to make. It made me realize that even when things don't go as planned, there's always something to appreciate and learn from. In the end, while it was a tough night, it served as a valuable reminder of the resilience needed in both bowling and life, and the importance of facing challenges with determination and optimism. As cheesy as it sounds, I don’t want to always be bitter here. I want to be able to enlight and learn from my experiences to be better in the future in every aspect.
