Oregon
Visiting my best friend in Oregon was an unforgettable experience, and long overdue. It was packed with many fun activities and heartwarming moments. From the first day to the last, we made the most of our time. It was mostly filled with late nights but I tried to take in every minute of it. I just hope I can wake up early enough for work now.
On the first day, we went to a place called Next Level, a old school but not really old school place for video games and pinball machines. The nostalgia hit hard as we played games from my childhood like Marvel vs Capcom where I absolutely shit on Amber. We even tried some older pinball machines that were pretty nuts. During the same day we got sushi that I was desperately craving. Although it wasn’t as good as Genki Sushi, it was still decent and definitely beat Genki prices. Later, we enjoyed a nice meal at a Korean BBQ place. While it wasn’t all-you-can-eat, the quality made up for it, and the lack of sales tax was a nice bonus.
The second day was more laid-back but just as enjoyable. Amber and I decided to go to the local food trucks, where we found some amazing tacos at a great price. Afterward, we headed to Top Golf with some of their friends, had a few dranks, and watched the olympics while waiting for our bay.
Day three brought a unique experience since being in the states as we attended a Hawaiian festival. The atmosphere was fuckn electric, filled with music, dance, and so much aloha. Being surrounded by so much love and positive energy made my heart feel full and warm. It was a beautiful reminder of the importance of community and the spirit of Hawaii, even so far from the islands.
On the fourth day, Amber had a surprise in store for me. We headed out to the sand dunes where I rode four-wheelers for the first time. It was a lot harder than it looked, but the challenge made it even more fun. We laughed at my initial struggles and celebrated my minor victories like getting into first gear. The atmosphere and the beach made it a day to remember.
My last day in Oregon was bittersweet. Their family made a delicious meal that reminded me of home, and it was the perfect way to wrap up my trip. Earlier that day we visited an interactive light museum called Hopscotch. The installations were beautiful, and it felt like we were walking through a dream. The vibrant colors and creative displays were a feast for the eyes and a perfect way to mess around and take our hot girl pics.
Overall, my trip to Oregon flew by, but every moment was worth it. Reconnecting with my best friends after so many years and picking up like we never left is always a pleasure. This trip was a beautiful reminder of the importance of being around those that lift you up and bring out the best side of you.
