Vegas Baby
I recently went on a trip to Las Vegas, and while the main reason was a bowling tournament, I was way more excited to see my family and friends from Hawaii—and, of course, try my luck at the casino.
The tournament lasted only two days. Unfortunately, the first day was rough for me. My shot execution was way off, and I just couldn’t seem to find my groove. But on the second day, things turned around. I found my rhythm, stuck with one ball the entire time, and performed much better. A special shoutout to my friend AJ, who absolutely crushed it—bowling even better than he expected and placing 6th individually. It was great seeing him do so well!
When we weren’t at the lanes, we made the most of our time in Vegas. We had plenty of drinks, and we gambled—a lot. Sadly, my luck at the slots wasn’t the best this time around. The craps table gave me some hope, though it was a roller coaster of wins and losses. Just when I thought I was about to make a comeback, the mf 7 would show up and ruin my streak. But hey, that’s Vegas, right?
My mom, on the other hand, had a fantastic trip! She hit the royal flush on video poker and even broke the progressive pot. I was so happy to see her luck turn around.
We also indulged in some amazing food while we were there. One day, we went to the Palms Hotel for an all-you-can-eat buffet. They had lobster and crab legs, and it was 100% worth every penny. No trip to Vegas is complete without good eats, and this definitely hit the spot.
Next up is another trip to Vegas in February for a big Super Bowl weekend, my grandma’s birthday, and yet another bowling tournament. Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly and maybe, just maybe, luck will finally be on my side.
